it seems like there have been issues with java-related games like memory and puzzle chain since java updated to their latest version some weeks ago. here's how to fix it! credit goes to
taliana! (lifted from a thread at heartchu forums)
THIS FIX IS FOR WINDOWS PC. CLICK HERE IF YOU USE MAC.Step 1Update your Java! Keeping Java up to date helps protect you from malicious scripts that might be running on various websites. It's not worth putting the security of your computer in danger just because a Java update might make it hard to play the puzzle and memory games.
Step 2Oh no! Is your Java broken now?

If you're seeing something similiar to this, then keep reading because this is the error that we're going to be fixing with this.
You want to find the "Configure Java" console that was likely installed when you installed Java. For Windows users, you can find this by clicking on
Start and then either typing
Java in the search bar, or going to your
Programs, and finding
Java in the list, then
Configure Java.
Step 3After clicking on
Configure Java, a console window will pop up. Click on the
Security tab at the top.
Step 4You might be tempted to just turn your security settings down -
DON'T DO THAT!!! That puts your computer at risk!
Instead, we're going to add
Pairings as one of the site exceptions.
Under
Exception Site List, click on the
Edit Site List button.
Step 5Click on
Add and type in
http://pairings.moon-jewel.net/(image below would be of
http://www.heartchu-tcg.com as an example)
Step 6Hit your enter button. You'll get a security prompt now - just click
Continue!

And that's it! You're all done! What you've just done is kept all your Java settings nice and secure, but added Pairings as a "trusted" site, which lets the games still work as normal.
You can repeat step 4 to 6 for other TCGs you're encountering this problem on.
feel free to ask any questions you may have and if you use windows, please kindly assist if you are able to as I'm afraid I'm not much help in this area :/
